This has been done before in NYS and has never altered the inmate population. All it's done is made smarter convicts and felons at the tax payer expense. Our children struggle for an education, we struggle to feed ourselves and stay afloat in this vampire state. As a registered Democrat and tax payer I swear I will NEVER vote for Como in any way. MC employees have gone 5 years without a pay increment because it lays on your desk Andrew and now you want to give more to the people that steal, rape and sell drugs. This is inexcuseable.

Apparently Gov Coumo never heard the exprression "Crime doesnt not pay" - instead he wants to reward them with a free college education. I went to ECC following my highschool graduation in 1974, then continued my education from 1977 - 1999 and worked to pay as I go to complete my degree in 1999. Now you are asking for my hard earned tax dollars to pay for a college education for a convict? Do you really think having a college education will help these criminal to get a job? What employer in the real world would hire a criminal?

The state wouldn't help me go to college because my parents made too much money but not enough to help me pay for school but if this becomes a law they would pay for inmates to get a degree?? That's ridiculous!!!! Help good people like me who can't afford it not criminals!!!!!!
