This is not fair to all to the law abiding people out there that have gone through college and are now in debt up to there necks and no jobs out there for them to pay there loans back.

Management Confidental employees have been denied a pay increment for over 6 years. It lays unsigned our your desk and you have the audacity to tell us you will give more to the inmates in NYS than to the dedicated, law abiding citizens? We haven't had tution reimbursement but Mr. Como gives free education to the people costing over $60,000 each because they can't follow the laws? What is wrong with this government?

No Way ... they should be responsible for the cost of a college education the same as other individuals and families who are struggling to pay the cost of a college education.

I don't feel we should let prisoners get a free college education when unemployment benefits were taken away.

The taxpayers of NY cannot take it anymore. We work so hard for what we make and more and more of it is taken away to fund those who refuse to work and/or don't play by the rules.

Let us all break the law and go prison so we can get a free college education!

our government needs to help hard working middle class people instead of these useless scrum bags.

i am also for rehabilitation for inmates but to give them a free education on our tax money is outrageous. its like we are rewarding people for bad behavior there are plenty of young people that are much more deserving

I paid through the nose for school. I even had to take money from my 401(k) because government loans (no grants for me) would not entirely cover it. This proposal basically says that I should just have committed a felony and I could have gotten my education for free. It reinforces criminal behavior. Also, I doubt it will work. First, as a recent college graduate, I can vouch that we do not make much more money (in fact, I make slightly less, and had to accept a longer commute to work in my field). Second, these people will still be felons, and they will still have difficulty getting jobs for that reason, regardless of their education. Ultimately, if we cannot help law abiding citizens with their education, we can't, in good conscience, do the same for criminals. They made a choice to commit crimes. Whether it's because of poverty/lack of education--which I find to be an oversimplified and over-sentimental view--or not, there should be consequences, not rewards.

I would love to go back to college and get a "free ride" but I'm going to work hard for my degree! I am hugely opposed to Gov. Cuomo's plan.

I do NOT want my tax dollars paying for an imate to receive a college education when I can't afford to pay for my own children's education. My children will be left in debt. An imate should not be rewarded for breaking our laws. Teach them how to work a trade so they can work their butts off like we do!

These are my taxes and I do NOT want to provide an education to someone who breaks the rules and cannot follow directions when so many of the hard working, follow the rule children cannot afford an education
