Seriously, you have to be kidding ! My kids have worked hard to get into good colleges and are paying for their educations, and you expect us, the working and law abiding to pay for the incarcerated? No way!!!!

The governor should focus 100% of his efforts on helping to educate the thousands of young people who are working two jobs and trying to pay for their tuition. His efforts are instead focused on outrageous programs to position himself in the political gain game!! Shame on Governor Cuomo!!

No way! Raise our taxes to put inmates through college, when we struggle to put our own kids through college. Our taxes gave the inmates a free education k-12, they don't deserve another 2-4 years, they want an education they need to work for it like we did and our children to come! If this law is passed I will need to encourage my children to commit crimes so they can receive a free college degree. What a slap in the face to the tax paying, law abiding citizen

I have family who are law abiding citizens & work 2 jobs each to support themselves. They will be paying off student loans till they retire if not longer. Nobody helps them pay off their debits. Giving free college to inmates at tax payers' expense is one of the dumbest ideas from a politican that I have heard of. Lets fund other worthwhile programs that are crying out for assistance - like helping honest citizens pay off their debt.

I'm a recent college graduate with no arrest record and struggling to pay my bills. I don't see how its fair for me to pay for inmates (who gave up their rights by disobeying the law) education. Make them take out student loans like everyone else!

This is outrageous. People are in debt or unable to attend colleges because of the outrageous costs and you want to give criminals free education. This is INSANE! Why should my tax money that I work for go to their education instead of paying for my own?! How does this even make sense!?

This proposal is totally outrageous! It is my understanding inmates get educated while in prison. If they want a college education then get out of prison, go to college on their own dime and then lead a law abiding life.

It would be better to offer education courses in the trades to prepare them for their futures.

I oppose funding college degrees for prison inmates. We struggle to pay for our children's education and you want to use our tax dollars to pay for criminals to get the entitlement of education at no cost?? Crazy.

I am 62 years old, ready to retire, and this is another reason to leave NYS. Agreed with your vote for gay rights, disagreed with Safe Act, registered vocal voter, do the right thing.
