What are they going to do with their college degrees there are no jobs in NYS. Also let the middle class have to take out massive loans to send their kids to college. Middle class gets screwed again!

Full funding for our public high schools should be restored as well as more tuition assistance for college students before we give tax dollars toward an inmates college.

The resources should go to teaching individuals how to be responsible citizens in the first place. More support for schools and families

Hard-working, law-abiding citizens struggle or save to earn a degree. A FREE degree for inmates is a poor plan. I would however support a plan if the inmates paid for their education, either through their own loans or if they earn money in prison.

I am livid about this! My 2 boys attend U.B. & I told them to use 2 separate credit cards of mine when tuition was due in January so the bills would be spread out a bit, but it wasn't enough. My husband & I work hard, making an honest living & struggle to pay all our bills.

While I do believe that better educated inmates would make more successful members of society, as a current student rife with student loan debt, I cannot support this proposition. Until a college education is made affordable for hard-working students of any income class, I feel that this bill and its intent could be redirected elsewhere.

Middle class families can't afford to send their kids to college without huge load, and you want criminals to go for free -ridicules !!!!!

I DO NOT think prisoners deserve a college education for free! The people that should be helped are the poor who are struggling to make ends meet. Also the college students trying to get a education.

My kids, ages 20 and 23 could not afford a college education despite one being in the Navy and the other having scholarships. I am insulted by this although I believe prison inmates need to be rehabilitated and given opportunities to improve their chances to be productive citizens. Our law abiding kids should come first with the routing of our taxes.

I feel they need to apply for FASFA just like everyone else. There shouldn't be a such a rewarding benefit to being incarcerated. There are many students that struggle with debt of college for many years. EARN YOUR EDUCATION.. don't have it handed to you!

maybe we could use that money to help our children get more grants and financial aid from the state instead of spending it on our inmates. why reward them for commiting crimes.

There should be education offered to prisoners if they desirr but not at the expense of the tax payer.
