When parents can't afford to send hard working children to college, this free college classes for inmates is a slap in the face to all of those hard working students! I absolutely cannot and will not support this plan

This is absolutely ridiculous when I have to have my payroll garnished because of a NYS student loan! Before they pay for some inmates tuition, they can pay mine!!!

I am disgusted that my tax money pays for someone who thinks this is a good idea while my kid struggles to afford to go to college and who worked her but off in HS to get there.

I think this is completely unfair. I've always been in the class of citizens/residents that have had nothing handed to me. Yet, we want to reward people for making all the wrong decisions. People will be committing crimes just to get a free college tuition. Maybe letting them learn skills that would allow them to do the jobs nobody else wants, once they get out. But college? I can't believe this is even being proposed.

I as a college student have had tap and pell reduced due to lowering in the budgets for grants resulting in me now being 15,000 in debt with student loans to survive between school and surviving to live, with my overall income being less than 20,000 a year and now people in prison can get the same education that I am going into debt for, for free? Well why don't I just go out and commit some petty crimes that will add up to enough time so I can finish my degree for free? oh wait, Because when I get out of prison NO ONE WOULD WANT TO HIRE ME!!!!!! WHY ARE WE GOING TO WASTE MONEY ALLOWING THEM TO GET COLLEGE EDUCATIONS WHEN NO ONE IS GOING TO HIRE FELONS AND PAY THEM DECENT WAGES??? GED FINE!! COLLEGE? LET THEM GO INTO DEBT LIKE THE REST OF US!!!!!

I had to work hard (while raising children) for my education. There is value and pride in work. There is no value in a government that enables its citizens. Our government being disrespectful with our money needs to stop!
