This is just crazy.... I have worked for 40 years and feel that if anyone should get a education... it should be our children... not the prisoners...they are behind bars for a reason, in fact most of the luxuries they have now should be taken away. I'm sorry i don't get to watch a big screen tv (even though my HARD earned money has bought it for the prison system along with work out centers... excuse me????? WTF are you thinking????

Gov. Cuomo's lack of consideration for law abiding taxpayers and students is nothing short of appalling.

While I like some of the things the Governor is doing, I have to say this is one of the most ridiculous things I have heard of! I am working full time and going to school for my Master's degree, and I'm not getting any free meal ticket for my education. So the message here is "commit a crime, go to prison, and get a free ride for your college education." What?!? That's complete bogus! I'm an older student (decided later in life to go to college), and I'm very nervous about my student loans. I can see myself as an elderly person in assisted living still trying to pay off my loans... or would Governor Cuomo like to throw me a free ride through college too?! I'm sorry, but hard working folks WITHOUT A RECORD should be rewarded with perks such as this before a PRISONER gets a free ride! We are paying enough to feed and shelter the dirtbags! SMDH!!!

This this bs!!! I'v obeyed the law my whole life and I'm struggling finding away to go back for my bachelors degree. These people had their chance. If anything invest money into improving the children's lives who come from shitty backgrounds so they don't become felons in the first place!!! This shit is backwards.

Really! we pay room and board and now they want to pay for their education. Put the money towards college education of families that are stuggling to send their children to college and takng out loans!

Educating someone who decided it was easier to take a another persons' hard earned property and money than it was to work for their own is wrong. It will only make them smarter and better crooks.

why should law abiding citizens have to pay for their education yet criminals don't? this makes no sense just like most of the laws nowadays.

I had to pay for my higher edcuation becauase I was NOT incarcerated? Give them access to loans, that's all.

Any help for tuition should be given to those law abiding students that need the help, not those who have chosen of their own free will to disobey the laws of the land.
