I am a recent college graduate and paying ridiculous amounts of money back for my student loans. Why not help out those of is working our hardest and struggling every month to pay the bills because of my student loan costs.

if we as hard working citizens are unable to afford college education then why would i support inmates who have had opportunity but chose not to upkeep the law. What a crazy proposal!!! maybe he should concentrate on not having N"Y as a right to work state having workers from other states work our local jobs making his residents in ny to sit on the unemployment list for months on end ! he is totally insane!!!!!!! would not vote for him at all!!

I am a single mother who while raising two sons on my own worked full-time and went back to school to earn a Bachelor's Degree. I paid my own way and am still paying off student loans relating to that experience. New York State did nothing to support my efforts to improve myself and increase my earning potential. LIkewise, both of my sons paid their way through college. They worked hard and got very little financial assistance from NYS. They, too, are paying off their student loans. If you want to invest money in education, invest it in law-abiding citizens and make college educations more affordable for the people who have earned them.
