My daughter is still paying her college loan after graduating in 1994 - and my granddaughters are paying on their loans, and they haven't broken any laws. This is a slap in the face to all the kids that are busting their butts to pay back their college loans - but if you are a criminal you get to go for free. No more votes for anyone that thinks that is right.

If costs only $5000 a year educate a prisioner, why does it cost law biding NY tax paying citizens more then twice thatper year for tution to SUNY Colleges?

I worked hard to get an education, I approve of rehabilitation, but not when my education has cost me nearly 10 times as much with no government relief.

Let's give every person eligible to attend college, including senior citizens who did not receive a degree $5,000 to attend a university. Then I am in. Education should be equal for all. Even those not incarcerated.

My kids are in debt because they chose to go to collage to better them selves. the only thing they got handed to them was the huge bill. my kids worked HARD for their education . What Cuomo is trying to do is going to treat my kids like a second class citizen and put these degenerates as 1st class citizens. We all need to hink long & hard as to what is going on because we can't vote jurks like this into office anymore. Shame on Cuomo for treating these convicted felons better that he treats my own kids.

I can't believe what I heard out of Mr. Cuomo's mouth.he definately doesn't take after his dad. How to i justify to our daughter who just paid off over $40,000.00 in students loans,that her cousin in jail serving four years for DUI, part of her paychech is going to support an education, scott free for our jailbird. Cuomo only once again opened his big mouth without thinking.He has just given the OK to anyone who breaks the law should be given a blank check because he thinks it will make them change. i can't help but think just what exactly is he on? If he was my son I would be ashamed of him.How dare him,he didn't get my vote before and definately not now for sure.

This will not save the state money. Take away their rights in jail, the free cable tv, the good food, the gym....
