My husband and I have worked two jobs to make sure our 3 children had good college educations. This has been for 15 years and now the governor expects us to help educate criminals!!! I don't think so!! One more reason to leave New York!!!!

The SUNY system offered no scholarships or discounts to my twin sons who graduated from high school with honors.......but Nee York expects me as a taxpayer to pay for law breaker's college education!!!

How do we tell our children to be good when all we do is reward bad. I have a friend of mine who's daughter is in college to become a veterinarian and may have to drop out because of finances. I am so sad to see my beautiful country going to hell. I guess we can't fix stupid.

I have a job and work for my money. I could not afford to go to college, why should I have to pay for scum to go to college? Am I missing something? Do I have to be a criminal or a millionaire to get a break in this life? STOP!!! The middle class has payed enough! Our backs are broken! Please stop this insanity!!

people pay a lot of money to go to college and build a career. i think it's rediculous and to offer free college to rapists, child monsters, murderers, and other criminals. think about it....do you want the man/woman who raped/molested you getting a degree in prison that makes them capable of becoming your child or grandchilds teacher or doctor after serving their sentence?!?! i sure as heck don't. i think gov. cuomo's proposal should be ripped up and thrown out!!!

SO, in New York state, if you commit a felony you get a free ride through college...but if you are a law-abiding student with decent grades and working parents, your reward is to come out of college buried in debt so deep, you may NEVER recover?? NO!

Taxpayers already pay a lot to house inmates. Prison is the place for inmates to do their time, in other words, the place for them to pay the debt they owe to society (taxpayers) for their criminal behavior they perpetrated against it. Gov. Cuomo has it backwards if he believes taxpayers owe prison inmates a college education. Prison inmates are not entitled. To better educate themselves, they can use the resources already available to them like prison libraries. They can also participate in self-supporting jobs in prison or outside crews under tight security.

Gov Cuomo the American Opportunity Credit is denied to felons and you want to give them a few ride. Really. Let's get the kids to stay in High School & get a job so they don't end up in prision.

I consider tuition assistance for the law abiding citizens to be a better way to go.
