It is unthinkable to comprehend that our tax dollars would go to educate criminals!!!! I pay taxes(property/mortgage/school/gas/purchases/my husband pays income/SS/medicare/FICA. etc). Where is the FREE TUITION for my (2) TWO children who are taking out student loans for their college??????? Student loans becuse we can't afford to pay with all the tax burden living in NYS. What is wrong with the thought process of government? This is just a continuation of the rediculious policy proposals. You want to educate the criminal. Start by telling the kids/parents to stay in school and get a good high school education! Will it take us all leaving NYS becuase we can't afford to live here?

Prison should be a punishment for criminal acts. I thought cable to offering too much, but now this! Why should law abiding citizens pay for this on top of all the other 'benefits' these criminals get! It has to stop!

Why should lawabiding citizens who are struggling to pay for their own children's college tuition have to pay for a bunch of cons and felons. No wonder this is the highest taxed state in the nation. You guys either don't get it or you, don't care. Not sure which is worse !!!!!

College professor at a state university - I have been furloughed by the governor due to the inability to balance the budget. Where will the money for this come from. We are taxed enough.

Governor Cuomo......you can kiss your political career good bye if this plan becomes a reality . Why on earth would you care more about inmates in state prisons, when New Yorkers have to work two jobs just to afford college tuition and the multitude of other expenses. Concentrate on these residents to ease the pressure of completing their degree and finding employment in this state. So many other comments I could make, but I am hoping others signing this petition will express their thoughts as well.

The people that go to jail are there to learn crime doest pay. they should NOT get a FREE collage degree. Let them pay out of their own pockets like we do. They get more rights in jail than we do also. IT IS NOT OK!!!!!
