I'm a divorced single mother and I am working extremely hard to get my Associates in Business Administration at Genesee Community College. I was named to the President's List (Fall 2013) because I worked hard and obeyed the law.

There are many who live paycheck to paycheck in this State. Our taxes are already high enough!

I can hardly pay for my $50,000 of debt in student loans. I work full-time to support myself. Why should criminals get help, but law abiding citizens struggle everyday to make ends meet?

My son is an honor student at Canisius College. When he gets out of school he will owe approximately $35K and he had scholarships. He has won many honors and volunteers his time for several different causes. He works to support himself and pay tuituion. Please don't penalize him for working hard and being a hard working member or our society.

Find hard working poor families that follow the law and pay for their childrens education! Then maybe they wont end up in prison in the first place!

I am a parent working 2 jobs , with a son who has graduated and is working 2 jobs to try to pay off his college loans. He is not a criminal or a convict, obviously! because the State is not giving him a free education.

I AM A REGISTERED VOTER. I have 1 child who has paid off her $40,000 college loan, 1 who is still paying his $50,000 loan, and a 3rd who has postponed continuing her Masters despite graduating cum laude because she feels she cannot afford more than the $40,000 she owes now. And their degrees are from NYS schools. Maybe my kids should sell crack to pay for their education, that way they wouldn't need loans...or wouldn't have to pay for college if they got caught.

I watch as our high school students struggle to get into colleges. Why would we educate the scofflaws and give them a better chance at scamming the rest of us?

If this passes, I am moving to a state where we don't reward prisoners and deadbeats. I worked my butt off to get through college, and I will be paying for it for the next 20 years. I had to go part time a few semesters because I couldn't afford their health insurance. Why should some scumbag get that for free. They owe society a debt, not the other way around.
