Criminals should never have more rights than law-abiding citizens. I don't see NY paying for the common man's college and we should not be footing the bill for convicts!

WHY should criminals get FREE college education when law-abiding taxpayers have to pay for theirs!!! Make THEM pay for it like the rest of us!!!!

I am a full time student working my way into life long debt in order to do good for myself. Nobody is helping me pay for my college tuition, why should I help pay for theirs? Because they broke the law, they earned that? I don't think so.

Hard working people that choose the right path in life need the help first. Start with high school education first and provide the opportunities BEFORE jail is an issue. The inmates can work for and pay their way, just as the rest of us.

I agree that inmates should be able to receive an education in prison, it should not be free. $5,000 a year is still a lot less than I paid! They should take out loans just like the rest of us.

you must be out of your mind, we work our lives to pay your outrageous taxes and try to help pay for our kids collage so they can get the hell out of this state, and you want to give my money to prisoners.Were all out of here in less than 2 years. Sooner the better.....

The Governor should concentrate on providing free state university tuition to all NYS law abiding residents first! If GA, FL and CA can do it, why can't NY? After all, we pay the 3rd highest taxes in the nation!

I can't even believe this has to come to a petition...has Cuomo lost his mind....so many cut in our school budget. .such over crowded classrooms...ridiculous.... you should be ashamed of your self Mr. Cuomo....and shame on you Crystal Peoples you to make no sense.

both my children went to college, both my children had to borrow money and have outstanding loans, help them first , if those criminals want to go to college, help them before they are criminals
