This is just another slap in the face for the young people who are currently in serious debt due to their unpaid student loans.

Many of the ones who would be footing the bill for this are the ones who are struggling to pay their student loans.

This is absolutely the worst idea ever! There are young people who desperately want a college education and cannot afford it. Why waste money on prisoners? They chose to do whatever got them there and they do not deserve any perks at all!

I refuse to allow my tax dollars to pay for the betterment of criminals. If we can't offer free college education to law-abiding young people, why should we offer it to those who have broken the law?

I have almost 100,000 in student loan debt. This proposed legislation is extremely frustrating for myself. New York State is one of the worst states for giving financial aide to students. However, you want to give criminals a FREE EDUCATION?!?!? You are saying, go to jail, you can get a degree. But live a crime free life, and pay for the rest of your life for your education!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This so angers me. Students that follow the rules, do the right thing and stay on course all have loans that they will be payig back for the next 20 years or more. Why reward those that have done wrong and sentence those who have done right to a of loan payment for the next 20 years

Why not give graduating high school seniors the free college education? It may cut down on teen/young adult crime rate as well! Being a single (widowed) mother, it is hard for me to make ends meet, let alone save money to send my twin sons to college in 4 years. Free college for those graduating high school seems the more plausible way to go.
