To me, it's just wrong. And I oppose it. There are to many law abiding people who can't afford college. Plus what about all the schools that have been close teachers let go because of state aid being cut? this just not make sense! What about the poor neighborhood where many kids turn to crime because they can't get a good education.

Why would you pay for schooling for those who have given up their rights the moment they CHOSE to commit a crime and yet our school systems are failing and cutting activities because they can't afford it. This is a sad world we live in and I feel horrible for my children

This is ridiculous! 2 of our law abiding children are struggling to pay their loans while our other 2 children are getting ready to graduate from college with the constant worry about how they will pay their loans. Our finances are limited, yet someone who disregards the law and his/her fellow human being should be rewarded with free tuition?!?! Is Gov. Cuomo out of his mind?!?! I say NO DEAL!

I am OUTRAGED over this!!! We are a hard working middle class family that gets not a dime for my own children. I have two daughters who owe $75000 in loans who are still in school. With all the taxes you take from me I can't afford their tuition!!! I'll be damned if my tax dollars will educate inmates!! Let my taxes go to my hard working children not a criminal!!!!!

My children are working to pay off their student loans - Maybe the Governor should expand his Intentions to include paying off the tuition of all New Yorkers.

An education is no guarentee that a prisioner will not return to prision. There are plenty of criminals with college degrees. Plus most non prisioners can barley afford the cost of college.s

Really, I had to pay my way and still am. If you want to forgive my eduational loans and give EVERYONE in the state access to a free college education then you have my support - until then GET REAL!!

I can't get into a NY state community collage with an IEP diploma. Why should they get a free education for committing a crime and hurting people. My ONLY crime is being bad in math. Why doesn't Governor Qumo help me.

Use the $$ to educate the kids that aren't in jail yet...house them in dorms if necessary . They shouldnt be encoursged to go to prison to get fed or get an education.

Another case of the Governor giving an "entitlement" to those who do nothing useful for our society, except to expect those "entitlements" given off the backs of honest working New Yorkers. .

Restore Tap for the law-abiding citizens! If convicts wish for degrees, make them pay for tuition like everyone else has to. Make them take on that debt burden! How about targeting the young population to enforce mandatory schooling prior to their road down the illegal paths they decide to take and maybe we would not have 55,500+ convicts to begin with!

I say NO!!! We already pay to keep the prisoners safe and happy, we shouldn't be paying for a college education that we can't even afford to give ourselves!

I don't believe they deserve this prove late and believe the idea to fund graduate programs would be better because they earned it
