We need to assist the hardworking families struggling to make ends meet while battling the rising cost of college. You'll have more people committing crimes to receive a free education. Lets reward the hardworking honest citizens, not the criminals.

It's a ploy . He's plotting to turn over corrections to the private sector and this is just another propaganda tool he is using to support his mission .

I believe that instead of prisoners getting free college people that get good grades and are not criminals should get free college. Make the criminals pay, not the hard working studious students. Thanks to the price of colleges when I graduate college I will forever be paying my debt off!

We work, my children work, we have never broken the law, and we all are paying on college loans 10 years later. No aid for middle class and someone in prison gets a free ride. Trust me , that is hilarious and absurd

We have struggled terribly to help our children get through college. They as well as we will be paying off loans for YEARS! I can barely afford the taxes I pay now and certainly cannot afford to educate prisoners. PLEASE do not force this on those of us who are just keeping our heads above water.

I have a son who is up to his eyeballs in student debt so he can live the American dream and you governor want to give a free ride to criminals? Jail is suppose to be for punishment, not for an education. I certainly hope you reconsider your plan to educate criminals who have harmed innocent people. There are programs already that are privately funded...that is ALL you need..Why take monry of out the pockets of people who helped you get elected? This is wrong on every level.

How about helping me and thousands of other graduates struggling to pay off our student loans? I am a law abiding citizen who works very hard to pay my bills every month. It's outrageous that this has even been thought of.
I am not opposed to rehabilitation and education.I am opposed to not extending the same opportunity to others w ho are not in trouble with the law and work to better themselves respectively. Equality opportunity is at best fair.

I'm working my ass off and doing everything right, and all the while I'm putting myself in debt to get my education. Let's worry about helping the students who are swimming in debt! Prisoners need to take responsibility for their futures, not have the government give them everything.

Are you kidding me??? Are you crazy? I am working my butt off and trying as hard as I can to save and send my kids to college and we are going to find money to do something crazy like this? I cant get any financial aid yet somehow there is money for this. Please do not allow this!

You are pricing my kids out of college, there is no way I want to pay for a criminals free ride for a degree. You make my kids tuition $5000 a year and then will take about criminals getting a hand out

There is no way that prisoners should be getting a free college education when so many people, who didn't hurt society and were put behind bars, are struggling to pay their school loans. Reward the people who graduated and help pay off their school loans faster if you're going to do something, that way maybe they can afford a house even sooner and you'll be making tax money on that.

There is no way that I want my tax dollars to go to prisoners. If we can educate them for $5.000 then why are so many families in Debt sending their kids to college. If you do the crime you do the time without bennefits
