If prisoners are given free college classes, then so should every college age student be offered the same option. Since that is not possible financially then it should not be offered to individuals incarcerated in state prisons.

My law abiding son is rewarded with 20 years of student loans repayments. While the prisoners are rewarded with a free college education. Something wrong here.

Personally, I am having enough trouble coming up with the money to send my own children to college, not interested in paying for the continuing education of a group of people who have done NOTHING to earn it. It ASTOUNDS me that this is even a consideration.

I don't disagree with giving incarcerated individuals and education. I only disagree with giving it to them for free. Give them loans payable after they are released. It is unfair for all law abiding citizens to have to pay for their education while felons are now getting it for free!!!

My son is a science major at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Tuition is $60,000 per year, of which he get around $30,000 in scholarships. That leaves us responsible for the rest. Give me a break Cuomo!!!!!

NYS needs to give free or $5000/year college degrees to tax paying, law abiding NY citizens instead of prisoners. Middle class families can't afford to send our children to college, or they come out with staggering debt and we are going to give a FREE education to prisoners?? Gov Cuomo needs to fund public schools and start taking the burden off home owners before he gives away more tax dollars to prisoners. Anyone who supports Gov Cuomo's plan to give free education to prisoners loses my vote.

As a 25 year old small business owner I cannot afford to pay off my student loans yet, and I receive zero assistance. why should I have to pay for an inmates education when I can't pay for my own? rehabilitate inmates, don't make my family's life harder by raising my taxes for that.
