My son wants to go to college next year but I'm worried about I'm going to afford to help him. He is a law-abiding citizen and volunteer and wants to make a good living and we his parents literally struggle living pay check to pay check, and Cuomo wants to give free college to scum. Makes me sick. I say HELL NO TO CUOMO!!! And I had to switch to a high deductible health insurance since the premium of my original literally doubled and I couldn't afford that either. Already work FT but now had to get an additional PT job to make ends meet.

I'm appalled by the idea of giving free education to prisoners. It seems that the more responsible you are in NYS, the more you're screwed! I can't keep up with my children's college tuition, but the governor wants to take more from me to pay for someone in prison!!!!!

A convicted felon already gets free room and board for breaking the law. Why should that make them deserving of a free college education? I have children in college & they are hardworking stand up citizens that haven't broken any laws, lets give this money to the ones that are deserving of it.

This is unbelievable, since I am still paying for my college at the age of 33. I wish it was spent on restricting or capping the cost of colleges.

are you kidding me.. do you know how hard I have to work to put my kids thru college and to pay the obscene taxes in this state.. ??? You want to give this evil walks of life a free education? They dont even deserve the air they breath, nor anything else that the scum bags get for free.. MAYBE you should USE these morans for Testings instead of inocent animals.. if they knew that was their fate they would stay out of jail to begin with.. But instead you pamper the, feed them , harbour them, pay them, and give them all the comforts of home.. why wouldnt they want to come back there and live for free off of our money.. wouldn't make sense for to offer a high school diploma first? I have family that are paying off student loans still, years after school and now triying to start a family. I don't feel it is fare that a individual who chose to be a scourge on society should get a free ride for anything..I f they work for the education that is a different story. I have no faith that my government could pull that option off with out abuse...To me it looks like this was a brain stormed idea to get more black vote...

I have $30k in student loans and am harrassed if I miss one payment. I don't see why prisoners should get it free?

I have seen my taxes rise every year to support our local school district close the funding gap left by the state. I refuse to support this when I just paid off my student loan after 18 years.

I support rehabilitating people who want to become proactive about their lives especially if they show true conviction to change negative ways. But also as a student in a Masters program seeing my debt continuously increasing I don't agree with money being put towards these people before active students. I also don't believe in potentially strengthening skills of people who could easily turn around and use them against the same people who paid for their education. If they want a college education when they are free citizens they apply and receive aid if they coalify like the rest of us!

I am a 26 year old student, works a full time job, goes to school full time, pays rent and bills, and is also planning a wedding with my fiancee. How can this even be considered fair to good citizens who end up $40,000 in debt from college who play by the rules?
