How do I explain this to our children. They have been taught that good grades, and hard work will get you far in life. Not that lying cheating and stealing will get you far in life. It is NOT my problem to get convicts educated. They can do there time and then when they get out they HAVE A CHOICE on which road they will choose. This is a disgrace to our children

I agree totally, we have two girls who are doing the right thing and trying to get to college, if you want to give away some of our tax dollars give it back to me for so I can give it to them.

They have no rights to anything they gave them up when they committed a crime. The help should go to the hard working honest people that are having a hard time paying for student loans so or getting the grants to contribute to society.

How about helping honest working people go to college? Or, invest in education so crimes are not committed. Under this plan, crime DOES pay!

I do not support this expenditure.... Why don't you help the kids in dental and medical school if you have all that money? We need them and those schools are SUPER expensive!!!!

As a person who paid out of pocket for a masters degree and still.have not found a full time job in my field, i feel that we need to put LAW ABIDING citizens first. I understand the concept of risk reduction and I do think inmates should be able to get a GED but paying for college a just TOO much.

I am very proud of my children. They attended college, married, bought homes, had children, and are paying their student loans. They were responsible adults and never received a handout from the government. I am wondering what I did wrong to raise such children. If they had taken the wrong path and became criminals they would have a free education.

These funds should be used to feed and educate low income children so they don't end up in prisons.

If it only cost each taxpayer 5,000 per inmate per year why did I pay 20,000 per year per child to SUNY for 4 years? What example does this set to young adults?

this makes as much sense as funding a new football stadium for a sport that can pay millions to players.

This is a slap in the face to all law abiding citizens who work hard and put themeselves through college with out any government support. This is just a travesty. Gov. Cuomo..keep your hands out of my pocket for this!!!!!

This is rediculous - it should not even be an option. The money that is being spent already on prisoners in PRISONS is too much to swallow as a taxpayer. I pay over 30% of my income in the form of taxes before I even get my check, not to mention the outrageous sales taxes and other taxes. I worked hard to get my college degree and pay my school loans off and now I work a full time job in the private sector. I would much rather save my money to pay for my kids tuition someday. Myself and the rest of this state really think that we no longer have representation, especially in western New York.

Hire an ex con who got a free college education or a young person who, paid his own way. Maybe offering GED would be a better option but I strongly oppose putting any funds into this ridiculous plan

Governor Cuomo what the heck are you thinking or are you just as stupid as most of us in New York State think you are.
