No free ride for criminals. They can be some type of program instituted where they are given aptitude tests and then apply for student loans which can be paid back directly from garnishing their wages after they become employed. If a C or above average is not maintained, they are removed from the program.

While education has proven effective in lowering the chances of a return trip behind bars, we need to clean up a whole bunch of other messes before we start this kind of initiative. There are plenty of people who are not in jail who could use free education.

Totally unfair to law abiding citizens who should get a break rather than indicted criminals! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

If there is free education to be given - give it to law abiding citizens.

Before you give inmates a free college education, get all of the mentally ill individuals out of our prisons that don't belong there and provide them with the appropriate psychiatric care/medications & safe housing and programs that are so desperately needed!

Are you kidding me? I am tired of trying to support myself. Enough freebies for everyone, especially those that don't deserve it!

We are already paying their healthcare, better meals than senior citizens. I have 60,000 in loans and worked my rear end off to get my college degree, why should someone who committed a crime have that opportunity, make them pay for a college education. By doing a workforce program if you want them to become educated. They are not entitled to free college!! Give that to someone deserving
