I have to pay for college for 30 years and your going to give free education to prisoners?! Here's a crazy idea NYS why don't we stop giving away the farm and make people work and sacrifice for it like I had to.

Families and students are having trouble paying for their college education and burdened with student loans to pay back. Prisoners do not deserve a free education at tax payers expense. Make them pay back the money that is spent on their education as well. You are inprison because you made the wrong choices so no free ride to get an education.

I agree with the idea of educating for rehabilitation. However, when middle class law abiding citizens such as myself are having to pay back thousands of dollars of student loans it makes you a little angry to hear that criminals can get the same education for free. They should have to pay back the cost of the education just like everyone else.

This seems outrageous to me that an elected official can cram an unapproved program such as this one down the taxpayer's throats especially in light of the fact that other cuts are being done .

prison is so good now, they WANT to go back! How about shorte sentences with HARD LABOR the way it was meant to be? Do you punish you kid by buying him an ice cream cone?
