I am ardently against the governor's idea. The time to make a difference is before people commit a crime. There are so many people, me for one, that could really utilize Tap to make a difference in my life.

As a medical professional with a masters degree, to which I struggle to pay loans for the next 25 years of my life, this is completely ludicrous! I worked very hard to get into a masters program, even harder to finish and now spend a majority of my pay on loans. I cannot even begin to think about saving for my 5 kids to go to college. But sure, I would love to know that my hard earned money can't go towards my loans or my children's future, but the murderer that just got locked up will surely get a free education!!!

People that commit crimes go to prison to "pay their debt to society" . Taxpayers should not be paying for their college education they should work for it just like all those who work so hard to finance their education and pay student loans

It would be a good idea if we had enough funding to give all our young people the same free education.

Let's focus our efforts into deterring youth into becoming criminals instead of using taxpayer dollars to give free college credits to known criminals.

Cuomo is sending the wrong message that to get your college paid for by taxpayers you should become a criminal.

The man is out of control and this is the most idiotic thing I have heard . Give the kids that are law biding citizens and community members the money for college. I take $5000.00 back every year. This should not be allowed.

There are plenty of good people who are not in prison who cannot afford college. Get all of them an education and then maybe we can talk murderers - rapists - pedophiles - etc.

I paid my own way and never committed a crime doing it. Pay my sons' tuition and the tuition of hardworking students and I will consider paying the tuition of inmates. No way, mr cuomo.
