Fully fund education, as the law dictates. Then we can rehire our school resource officers, social workers, and counselors. Fully fund Mental Health programs, so that people with mental health issues don't fill the prisons. Fully fund programs for people with developmental disabilities, so that those folks wil not end up in prison, victims yet again. You have created the problem you are trying to fix. Eliminate the GEA. Open a school, close a prison. Don't wait until they're ALREADY IN PRISON. This is not rocket science. Unbelievable. And I understand recidivism. Teach a trade? Yes. College eduction? No!!

i'm struggling to pay off student loans, and you want to give free education to people who are incarcerated? I have never commited a felony of any sort, yet there are no breaks for me.. Should I go to jail for something just to get my masters degree? What a fucking joke.

NYS is too soft on crime, criminals hardly face any consequences, college funds are needed for the sturggling middle class and for the disabled in our state and we need funds restored to the education system for our K-12 students who are struggling with schools that are understafed, underfunded and they are going without the basic needs of education-stop glorifying the criminals in NYS and give us back our state!!!!!

We are a middle class family working our butts off to out our son through college - we pY taxes yet get nothing from New York State but a measly 250 dollar s from TAP. Now MY tax money is going to go to criminals ? Mr Cuimos proposal must not go forward !!,

if people can go commit crimes and get free college, then what do law abiding citizens get? Besides a ton of college debt and higher taxes? Even my 11yr old son is smart enough to see this is ludicrous!
