this is just wrong when there are so many young kids that would love to be able to better them selfs and go to college but nither them nor there parents can afford for them to go! this is very sad when you would put a criminal before a child with a better future!

We are the middle class and my children are still paying on their student loans because our income is to high but too low to afford to pay for their college education. How can you justify giving prisoners free college classes when my children had to go in debt for theirs. What the hell are you thinking Gov. Cuomo??? This is soooo wrong in so many ways!

If a college degree can be obtained for $5,000.00 why isn't that what it costs law abiding citizens?? Will Gov. Cuomo employ an educated ex-felon to work for him rather than an educated law abiding citizen. There are plenty of educated people on the unemployment line!!

I'm helping my daughter who is a freshman at SUNY Fredonia pay her $20,000 for tuition, room & board per year. Zero help from NYS. She will be paying loans off for several years. On this issue alone I will not vote for anyone who endorses tax dollars for prisoners!!

As a Businessman and community person that deals directly with the inner-city of Buffalo and that society which i come from, i don't see the return on investment with this decision. I really don't understand this idea and losing faith in our governor.

this is totally unfair. I have watched my grand children with a colledge degree. They have jobs and are working probably the rest of their lives to the tune of approx. 70,000. They make payments every month.because not all parents can afford to pay for their colledge education.I would like to see prisoners doing something to further education. We don't wantg to see them end up back in prison, but it is not the taxpayers responsibility or the same kids that are paying on their ow education.
