They should have to apply for student loans just like everyone else. I am a single mother of two that would love a free education while I also work to raise my kids. If I can't get it free why should a criminal!

Free college education to criminals, making law-abiding gun owners criminals if their guns don't conform to his standards, and driving manufacturers out of state, that's all King Cuomo has done as governor. Because if you actually think that Remington Arms, after 200 years of being in NY, aren't leaving once that larger factory is done in Alabama, you're blind. As for college, I'm racking up thousands in student loans so I can get a degree and I haven't even received my associate's degree yet. Not to mention the ridiculous requirements to get a degree, like needing algebra. I graduated high school in 1994, and in none of my jobs, 10 years in the Army, Tae Kwon Do instructor or management since then HAVE I EVER USED MATH (beyond basic math) or SCIENCE. I'm getting my degrees in American Sign Language!! Do I seriously need these things that THEY say are important? So I have to waste my precious loan money on classes I will never need in my future job? Yet instead of helping the law-abiding citizens with school, King Cuomo wants to give CRIMINALS a free education. I call BULL***T. Give the money to the school districts that need it and prevent kids from becoming criminals in the first place. Sign the petition! And while we're at it, IMPEACH ANDREW CUOMO.

cutting funds to education that could keep them out of prison but then giving them one once they're there? Something doesn't add up!! Not to mentions the thousands my husband and I have in loans we need to pay for our hard earned degrees while keeping ourselves fed, housed, and out of trouble!

My child has NEVER been in trouble with the law and is becoming neck deep in college debt, and will face an ever increasing difficulty in job placement after college and debt repayment. WHERE is the justice in this?

Where is the incentive to live by the rules? To work hard? The new rules are teaching kids to be degenerates. Go to jail and get an education the rest of us are in debt paying for forever. Or don't work and live for free!

I think is is very important to rehabilitate prisoners. But , there are so many individuals in need of help, that's where the aid should go. This is another way political move Cuomo will use to try to get votes
