I already have a daughter in college and another ready to go this year and I cannot afford to send them with out all the loans they and we have to take and my husband and I both have full time jobs - no one will help us so why should prisoners get free college what do our kids have to do go to jail to get an education for free?

I couldn't help my own kids ... and one has over $35000 in loans. I am also already having to pay mandated property taxes for every student that's attending Cayuga Community and Jeff Lewis .... I don't have it! My property taxes went up 12% this year ... Oswego's went up over 40%. Where does Cuomo think we're going to get it! I can't pay my bills now!!

It should not be free!!! They should have to go through the whole financial aid process like the rest of society!!! There are other hard working people that obey the law and want to attend college but cannot afford it. Those are the people we should help!!

When you can give my lawabiding child who is about to start college in the fall WITH A DISABILITY a free ride then all aboard. You're nuts. My kids school district is hurting every year at budget time and we're facing gap elimination and you want to give someone who committed a crime an education for free at a cost that my lawabiding son cannot get. I cannot stand but to shake my head and wait for the day we can cross the border with our belongings to a state where common sense prevails, where people know right from wrong. Our education system is bankrupt, so now I have to pay for this on top of college for my son, on top of school district taxes. F! No!

My daughter is working her butt off to get through college. She was offered no help because they say we make too much money. They don't take into account all of our responsibilities. So she works to put herself through school. I thought when someone does something wrong and ends up in prison....that person loses all their rights in society. How fair is that reality? No don't give the money to the prisoners.

If the prisoners wish to be educated there are libaries in prison. They should better themselves this way and possibly go on once they are released.
