How can you rationalize that inmates broke the law to begin with, and now they are getting better benefits than people who do right and work hard to make a better life for themselves. After raising four children, I have found that giving them perks is not a good way to teach them how to live in this economy and world. If they don't work, they don't get fed. There are plenty of jobs they can do to help themselves get back into the workforce.

I can think of at least 100 people that are more deserving of a free college education than murderers, rapists, and child molestors. It's also a slap in the face to anyone that has paid more than $5,000 for a college education. the whole thing is ridiculous and stupid.

the idea of inmates getting a free education sickens me. I will not support criminals to get a college education on my tax dollars while I can't afford to pay for my own children. What message does this send? More rewards for bad behavior. More hand outs for lazy. I have raised my kids to be good people and students and go to college. They will have to take out loans and go in to debt to repay their college education. Now college kids can just become thugs and go to prison and not worry about going in to debt for college. And who is going to hire any ex convict with a degree anyways? looming forward to seeing SUNY Attica as a college choice. NY stop wasting my hard earned money!

The higher authority people, need to seriously get their priorities straight. Half of the things they do are backwards. That is all.

I'm college student at a SUNY school; which is one of the cheapest 4 year schools and I will still be flooded with loans owed when I graduate. Inmates shouldn't get a free education while in prison when some of them won't even want one.

How many hundreds of thousands of law abiding citizens must be in debt to pay off their desire to educate themselves does it take for our government to realize that we don't wish to pay for a felon on top of our already outstanding school loans?

We need to help young, bright, law-abiding citizens who so desperately want to go to college and contribute to society but cannot afford it. In no way should crime ever be "rewarded". I'm tired of so many people receiving free rides while I (and many others) work hard for an honest living.
