What Gov. Cuomo wants is totaly rediculous! No one paid for My college and I ve Student loans to prove it! Why are prisoners who committe crimes ( reasons why they are in prison to begin with) should have every thing paid for them? I feel this is a slap in the face for those of us who never broke any laws, who are law abiding citizens , who get nothing but TAXED to death .

Unbelievable that this is even coming up! I worked so hard for my degree and job, do the right thing, and between my husband and I our ardent loan payment is almost as much as our mortgage (something a criminal probably won't have)! I am appalled at the fact that someone who made horrible choices in life will have the opportunity to get a college degree for FREE from JAIL!!! What is wrong with our idiotic politicians and government!! Keep reinforcing te negative just to get votes...HORRIBLE!!

You have to be crazy. It is so hard paying these loans back and you want to give it away. Work on programs in the schools now with that money. So many better uses can be put into the education system we have now.

I know many who are struggling to pay their college loans. And then you have me, working there jobs to make ends meet. I can't afford nor have the time to expand my education. Their criminals. They did something illegal, that's why they're there! We, as taxpayers, are paying for their mistake as it is. No education for them!!

If the Governor plans to do this let him donate his salary for it, not the over taxed, poor working people of NY, don't reward bad behavior!

I served 6 years in the Army, deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan to earn my college tuition. Now the governor wants to give this privilege to convicts? I don't think so!
