Wasted money. May as well give everyone free college to keep them out of jail in the first place? Or does Cuomo have 10 favors to pay off?

Now you have to commit crimes to get an education? Our kids are so burdened with loan debt and are struggling to stay above water and then this? Why are our politicians so removed from our reality?

How about teaching them a trade that they really use when their time is up and set up apprenticeships?

I have always wanted to go to college, never been arrested, and can't afford college. The people that think this stuff up need to be tossed out of office.

The only thing this is going to do is incentivize the rest of us to commit a crime so that we can go back and finish the college education that we couldn't afford to do years ago BECAUSE NEW YORK STATE IS TOO BUSY GIVING EVERYONE ELSE A FREE RIDE!

This infuriates me. Help deserving students-not prisoners.

I do not agree that inmates should get free college education! It would be just "something to do" at the taxpayers expense. I am sure lifetime cons would take the course just for something to do. Answer to Gov. Coumo for this is NO!

I am a single mother of two who went to college to better mine and my kids lives. I get no assistance from the government and now cannot afford my loans. I now know why people live off the government.

This should be offered to people who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own. Wiith the economy and job market the way it is, why not help them get a college education and provide the inmates with a different rehabilitation plan.

if we are going to give any free college courses to someone then let it be our high school seniors who's parents can't afford to send their children to higher education. Those in prison are there for a reason, they didn't want an education in the frist place!

we can pay to educate Inmates, but we can't afford to educate our children. Really Governor?
