In disbelief that this is even a possibility. With so many of us struggling day to day you want to make their lives better and easier? Not with my tax dollars!!!

If I can't afford for my children or I to attend college, and we are law abiding citizens, then I sure don't think it's fair my tax dollers to pay for a prisoner to.

I think inmates should be given basic classes in reading, math, science. Along with life skills such as basic banking (balancing a checkbook), obtaining a driver's license, resume building and job coaching.
These things should be basic requirements before being released.

Another politician giving everything away for free except to law abiding citizens that want to work. The governor should help lower my kids Sallie Mae student loans rates which are at 8%. Make college more affordable for everybody.

My son works at hos college as a head resident assistant and also works in the plotter room. As a HRA he gets a free room and approx $130 a semster. Im not sure how much he makes at the other job but it is barely enough to pay for his food. When he graduates next yr he will have thousands of dollars in college debt. He receives $o dollars in government assistance... NOTHING FROM THE GOVERNMENT! his hard work is putting him threw college not crime. It is unbelievable to me that this free college for prison inmates would even be considered! Catch a clue!

I can barely pay off my own student loan debt and yet I may have to contribute to theirs. Who's to say that they will even use it to obtain a job when they get out. What if their a felon, no one will want to hire them regardless if their degree. Not fair in my eyes, but hey... Again the system wants to give more to those who do nothing for society compared to those that do.
