I am up to my eyeballs in student loan debt. This proposal is absolutely outrageous. Give them something else to do, anything but a free education! Make them work for it, just like any other upstanding person needs to do.

This was done before and finally stopped. If they want an education they pay for it just like everyone else. To many students don't get a chance at college because they can't afford it and for one reason or another can't get financial aid. Sorry if they want to go to college they can apply when they get out. They should be getting their High School Equivalency while in prison so that they are eligible to go to college when they get out.

giving an inmate a college education will not ensure that they do not return when released. prisoners upon release have a very difficult time finding employment so this is a waste of money and resources. And if u want to offer an education to inmates they should get loans like everyone else.

no way!! we struggle to put our own children in collage and you want us to pay for rapist and drug dealers to put them in collage. you want them to become smart enough to fight the court system and tie that up with appeals to help them get out quicker?? heres a thought maybe if they didn't break our LAWS they wouldn't be there!!!

there is no way i want my tax dollars going to people who have made one bad decision after another and ended up in jail when there are SO MANY better ways to spend the money. we need to be supporting children in public schools. give them a better start and they wont end up in jail!!!!

This is crazy! It's bad enough prisoners are treated better than our senior citizens in nursing homes. Are you kidding me? What are you thinking? The rest of us have to work hard for everything we EARN and you're going to hand an education to them for free? Oh wait, it won't be free as the taxpayers will pay!!
