Education is a great thing, but the reality is that we need jobs not always more education. I know lots of kids who had to pay for there education, housing, living expenses and have there Masters and can't get a job. Eduction isn't the only answer.

All my children have student loans to pay off. As usual. our GOVERNMENT. will give to the ones that do not deserve the utmost recognition and bury the Beneficial People in the mud. GREAT SYSTEM!!!!

Offering free college to prisoners is wrong. I do believe that education should be offered to people in prison, but they would have to do something job-related (cleaning the highway, etc.) to pay for it themselves. If NYS current and former college students that are law abiding citizens do not get free college educations, than people that break the law should not have that privilege. .

if you are going to pay for inmates to receive a college education, then you should pay for law abiding citizens to get a college education as well. As a parent of two college students, I am going into major debt to pay for my law abiding children to further their education. These inmates are already getting free room and board. My child has to pay for it. This is crazy.
WHY? They do not deserve a break. Why reward them for committing crimes?

This idea is ludicrous ! Why would we educate criminals so that they could possibly use their education to scam us out of our I.D.'s possesssions, etc. ?
