I can't even afford to get into college at 24. If this bill passes, it would be telling me that the Governer just wants me to get charged with a felony, so then I can go to prison and get a FREE COLLEGE DIPLOMA!?! This is ridiculous.

Are you serious! I am hoping I am in a nightmare and will wake up! Someone needs to wake up and it's not me! Why don't you help the kids that went to college , that ARE NOT in jail, the kids that worked their way through college, that took college loans and now have to pay them back ! These are the kids you should be investing OUR money in! Not someone who choose to lead a life of crime!!

I am an adult student who has to work my butt off full time to pay for school and bills I don't qualify for financial aid because I'm a law-abiding citizen not living off the system. Definitely would not be fair to off prisoners a "benefit" that I can't qualify doing everything right!

I didnt get a dime of help from NYS for my college education, and I am a law abiding citizen. Why should criminals get free education?!?!?!? The message you are sending is, Dont bother joining the military and serving your country for help with school....just commit a crime. Ridiculous!

Why! When others who have never commited a crime, are good citizens, trustworthy, respect the laws are faced with a life time of loans to study at a college. The ones that have no value systems,and already have a roof over their heads,food, clothing . heat, medical services, and some what of a social life! would get an education free! No logical!!

all three of my children are in debt up to their ears with student loan debt as am I with parent student loan debt. It is absurd that criminals should be a free college education but we taxpayers have to pay for our college education for years!!!!

As a New York State law-abiding citizen, who is currently struggling to make ends meet due to overwhelming student loan debt, I can not support this idea. It is unbelievable that Cuomo would even considering giving a free education to those who have chosen a path that has landed them in prision, while others who have abided by the law are stuck with mountains of debt due to the high cost of college.
