Non-prisoners can't afford an education. We need to concentrate on them

If Gov. Cuomo wants to pay for anyones college, it should be be the low income who can't afford it because they make a little to much. Why reward people for going to jail. They have enough freebies

If the inmates would agree to pay back what they borrowed, or even a percentage of what they borrowed contingent upon there release, I would be all for it. I take two to three classes a semester and I have to work nearly 50 hours a week because Im not eligible for financial aid. Now Im expected to struggle for not only myself but at the expense of several others? I'll pass, but thanks Cuomo. Maybe the funding should come out of your salary, government pension and/ or your healthcare benefits

The working class of NY are struggling to pay our own student loans and everyday living expenses. if the governor wants to give away free college then how about forgiving my nursing loans and that of all my health care workers!

This is insane. We have many good people who would never do anything to be in prison who deserve this chance if it must become another taxpayer burden!

WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO GO TO COLLEGE. I WOULD RATHER HELP FAMILY IF I COULD. BUT I CAN'T EVEN AFFORD THAT.

In a time when the state is taking funds away from school districts in the form of the Gap Elimination Adjustment, and in a time when families of students who have not broken the law are going into debt to fund higher education, this plan is inappropriate and wrong.

Inmate's can already get an associates degree for free why do you want criminal's to have even more education? I had to pay for all of my degrees and I am still paying for them years after I completed them. Why dont you give free college to contributing members of society rather than the leaches of our society.

No this is ridiculous when people actually paid for a higher education and still in debt

Why should the prisoners get a free education when my son has to pay for his own! It will turn out that you have to become a criminal on order to get an education. Enough is Enough!! The public didn't force the criminal to choose the path they wanted to follow!!

I am stunned once again by the absolute ludicrous nature of our government, and the reason crime is so rampant is that there is no PUNISHMENT. Why is anyone thinking of rewarding criminals more?

What a ridiculous idea. Some are scrounging to make ends meet, feed their families and send their kids to college and we

Why should they get FREE college courses when I cannot afford to get the last college class I need to get my degree. Government will not pay for mine. College students are struggling now to attend college. If anything, Governor Cuomo should help those students NOT INMATES.

Pass a law because you're concerned about our guns but reward some who actually used theirs. Top notch.

untill all college tuition and books and everything else having to do with education is free to the public I will not support free college for prisoners. If they had the free education in the first place they might not have gotten themselves in prison.
