Thank you for using common sense, obviously missing from the Governor's Office.

This is wrong on so many levels. The help should go to the children who can't afford college. Not criminals!

After working 30 plus years in healthcare, I returned to college for my Masters Degree and graduated one month before my 59th birthday. I have been a contributing citizen to my community and within my profession for 40 years and I am still repaying my school loans. Like every citizen of NYS, we make daily sacrifices for our own and our children's education. Prisoners do not contribute to society and they are in jail for breaking laws, up to and including taking another human life. Give them a GED, but not college. Take that money and put it back in the NY education system in a proactive way to deserving students.

I have 2, A+ students who will probably be in debt for a long time paying for their college expenses! These hard working students deserve the help of the government to pay for college so they can make a positive difference in the world!

It's insane to take the money from responsible tax payers and give to people who have committed crimes, we have low income students who need the help more than they do!

We do not need to provide criminals with money for schooling, we NEED to provide funding for our schools NOW. The kids and schools need this and any money that can help educate our children.

They owe us (the taxpayers) we don't owe them. They should be serving our state or our county. No free rides on my dollar anymore!!

Treatment and rehabilitation, even GED classes, but this goes too far if it's free to the inmates. If they come out $70k+ in debt then maybe.
