I'm 25,000 dollars in debt and thinking of going back for a second degree. I think that this not fair for the hard working people who are paying for loans. Why should someone who is in jail get something for free while I have had to work a a full time job and a part time to just pay for loans and bills.

Prison is for punishment not reward. Make them pay for their own education like the rest of us.

Free education for those who have NOT committed a crime but need it would be better money spent, and I'd fully back that...not this.

Good intentions, but bad idea. We already spend more that twice the national average per inmate. We can't afford this, nor should the inmates be rewarded for their past behavior.

My son works 3 jobs to put him through school. My daughter has spent sleepless nights trying to get good grades to get a scholarship, she will still need to pay on student loans. Take care of law abiding taxpayers first

Why should current upstanding citizens who are working multiple jobs and going to school be asked to contribute to free college for wrong-doers in prison. That is just not fair.

I can either work hard, save money and get a degree or I can rob a bodega and have the taxpayers pay for my courses.
