It makes my head spin to think that convicted criminals will get a free education when my 4 children who are now in their 30's continue to pay for their student loans! I guess I will tell the grandchildren to just become criminals, as it does pay! This is just a huge slap in the face... another one by this bleeding heart, liberal Governor!

Our school districts can use this money. We have schools downsizing, laying off and good teachers retiring early just to help keep programs in our KenTon school district. If he doesn't know what to do with this money perhaps he should revisit the current education issues at hand.

If law abiding citizens needs to pay so should criminals. Too many cuts on things more important in schools and with our people who have served. This is insane.

NYS law abiding residents can't get free college education, but break laws....go to jail.....? Where is the incentive to these confused young adults to do the right thing? A GED or teach a trade for those who qualify (length of sentence or degree of violencefor the crime) now that is rehabilitation to me.

Prison is for getting punished for committing a crime. We as taxpayers should not be paying for the prisoners to earn a degree; especially when there are struggling students paying for their own education.
