I suggest paying $5000 for education of those NOT in prison so that a degree may keep them OUT of prison in the first place.

I have a mountain of debt and a clean record, help me! I'm tired of spending tax dollars on those that waste our tax dollars. I'm really really tired of a governor that doesn't want to take care of the hardworking people in the state, he's interested only in the takers. I guess that's his voting pool. Give this kind of help to a high school grad or an adult returning student. Start helping those that work hard instead of punishing us every single day!!!!

No way my children are/have struggled paying bills for college, youngest struggled for two years to get a decent job. Obey the law and you pay become a prisoner and all of society pays for you education, Andrew is a joke, and is killing us in the middle class

I'm outraged. I could care less about their rehabilitation. My husband and I work long, hard hours; physically demanding hours. My daughter gets denied even the lousey $250 TAP aid. Se is a full time Dean's list student/ full time college athlete, works to help pay her way, and still she'll have loans to pay, even at the state school rates. How about tossing her $500 a year Governor Cuomo? You are no friend to the working man. Let me ask this question. After these poor misunderstood criminals score that free degree, will they also get preferential treatment in seeking a job? Will they be required to pay back their tuition at high interest rates like the hard-working students that have not commited a crime? The middle class has been pushed far enough. The political pandering is abhorrent. I am a Democrat, I do believe in helping those in need, but we have become such a culture of enablers and lazy entitled recipients it is ridiculous. Many may be offended by my rant, but it is accurate; I see it and live it everyday.

I can't believe people voted for Cuomo to be Governor of NY, This new plan is an insult to every person who works and pays taxes in NY that are trying to support their own kids for College, Way to go Governor Cuomo. I have my own child to help through college next year, so no thank you to your plan.
