I am a Tax payer and do not want my taxes going toward this. Remember this when you vote! He's not for working Families or struggling college students trying to make their way. He would give a criminal, someone that has lost their place in society a Masters Degree FREE? What's wrong with him!

I have been paying on my childs school loans snd she is also paying some and is unable to find a job in her field. between us we are hardly able to pay those loans BUT WE DO. and she cant afford more loans to get her masters degree that she needs to get that job in her field. Maybe help the middle class who have stayed out of jail and want to go to school but can't afford it.

are you kidding me most NY State families are struggling to pay for their childrens education, and in some cases taking loans against their retirement funds, prisoners should get nothing in prison , no cable tv no excercise equipment and no college education its appalling

I graduated from D'Youville College's Physician Assistant program after I served 25 years of active duty in the USN. My son,s a combat vet from Iraq & a member of the NYSANG. He has to juggle his income to pay for his student loans. Cuomo is just grandstanding. Remember this is the latest brain child from the guy who rail roaded us with the NY SAFE act. I wounld not support AYTHING that Cuomo dreamed up.

They had a chance to take education seriously before they commited their crimes. This is an outrage at any time. There are decent upstanding citizens who can't afford to pay their tuitions. Give the money to them! Cuomo is way off base with this one.

Students who work hard to be good citizens should get the aid they need and deserve. Do not waste taxpayer dollars trying to educate criminals, many of which will simply reoffend anyway.

I am a full time pharmacy student. I am currently over $70,000 in debt with my loans accruing $12 interest per day. I have one more year of pharmacy school left and estimate that I will be over $110,000 in debt not to mention the interest. I do not think it is fair that my tax dollars should be spent paying for a prisoner's college tuition when I have loans covering my own college tuition.

It is against common logic for people to do wrong and be rewarded for that. Why should anyone who has committed or don something wrongly be rewarded. Likewise, why should taxpayers have to pay for "poor people" who are just cheating the system. I have no problems helping the needy and quite frankly would be the first in line. However, I am very frugal and do not like to see my hard earned money. Ring given to someone who would rather sit at home than contribute to society.

There are no acurate studies that prove college will reduce recidivism. Any study would only prove a false positive - that the same individual in prison that gravitates toward a prison program is the same type of individual that would most likely not commit a crime when back in society.
