Instead of offering them free college hoe about teaching them a trade job . How about having these inmates do jobs that can improve our communities ( ie road work , rebuilding homes for the needy, shoveling snow etc)!!! That free college they are suggesting to offer will just encourage more criminals to go to jail to get free college tuition!!!!!

Andrew Cuomo, I Mr. Bryan Held.....the tax payer and YOUR EMPLOYER AND BOSS think you are once again completely out of line with this proposal. You cannot rehabilitate those who do not want rehabilitation. They are incarcerated for a reason.....take the $5500 and put it towards families in this god damn state who are struggling to put there children through college as honest citizens. Andrew, do all real New Yorkers a favor and resign. Sincerely The Angry and Fed Up Tax Payer.

This is so ridiculous. Keeps attacking the state workforce, keeps cutting from the agencies that provide a direct benefit to taxpayers, and now wants to reward criminals with education that people who never committed a crime struggle to pay for.

My four children are paying off student loans and Cuomo wants to give prisoners a free ride. This is insanity.

I am tired of MY tax dollars paying for folks that will not work. And prisoners have more perks than I do. As a senior, recently retired, I must watch how I spend my dollars, & probably do not have the same delicious meals on a regular basis that prisoners have served to them. Should I commit a crime to be taken care of?

I never could go to college until AFTER I served in the US Military under the G.I. Bill. Why should we allow people who give away college educations free to prisoners? This is a kick in the face of everyone trying to raise themselves to a better standard on their own, and should not be a free giveaway.

I am sick and tired of Governor Cuomo's rob-Peter-to-pay-Paul budgeting techniques. We New Yorkers need to see a more common-sense and open budgeting process. i support Senator Grisanti's efforts wholeheartedly.

if the govenor is going to give inmates free college, thn i think its only fair to give those of us who are struggling with outrageous loans a break as well. criminals should not b rewarded with a free education. i definately was stupid in voting for this govenor i see.
