This is ludicrous when my grandchildren have to worry about funding a college education. The guidelines for financial aid are way off if my tax dollars are spent to aid lawbreakers but aren't available for hard working families who struggle to put their children through college

My daughter cannot even get loans to cover all the costs, so I will be paying school loans for her for the rest of my life, just so she can get the education she needs so she doesnt get stuck in an entry level job the rest of her life

If I am currently struggling to pay for my education, why should someone who has not contributed towards society and broken the law be rewarded with money towards education?

We all pay for the crimes another does in one way or another. However, when you choose to be above another because they made a mistake you did not, and choose not to allow a person to EARN the right to a good education and life, and that person can not provide for himself/herself don't complain when they have to or feel they have to turn to crime to simply have a home to live in. Oh, but it doesn't matter to you people because its not you who made a mistake "NOT YOUR CHILD" . I do believe only inmates with the possibility of being released, be the ones to receive the option to get a better education, a person in prison for life or so long that the could never use that education on the outside is a waste of money that can be applied to those who will. Still, I doubt the proposal will come into affect after all every prisoner in every prison is trash and should never have any kind of aid in becoming a better person so they can teach their next generation a better way of life. You people can't see the issue past your upturned noses.

I think all you people are a disgrace! It is hard for a person in prison and to educate them makes the chance of reoffending so low. Alot of people turn to crime because they have nothing!
You can easily judge people when you don't know there story... I have been the victim of crime, and believe if we eduate prioners the economy will be better off in the long run!
I dont kno about in the USA but here in the UK the prison service is a prfitable business... to cost alot but the profit they make is alot more.

I definitely think a better use for this money would be to support the Catholic School Tax Credit Bill as I strongly believe in Catholic Education. Also, my daughter, my nieces, nephews and cousins' children attend St. Bernadette School in Orchard Park as did I, my siblings and my cousins. It is an incredible Catholic elementary school and should not close at the end of this school year. How dare they put prisoners ahead of Catholic School children!!!!!
