Our kids can't afford to go to college and most end up with huge student loans and no real jobs that would make it easier to pay off these loans! In turn it really is a down fall to our economy. We pay prisoners room and board and medical costs , plus, plus, plus...once again it would be the "hard working middle class (if there is one left) families" that would pay for this. Enough is enough! Stop spending our money!Gov. Cuomo should be ashamed of himself after he takes so much from our schools ($$$) and talks about cutting property taxes...he has cause our school taxes to more than double over our property taxes. Does he really think people are stupid?!

If this law is passed, I, who have worked a full time plus a part time job for ten years, will go to Albany and punch the governer until I am arrested, and can go to prison so I can go I college for free. Not a threat; it's a promise-Mike Z

Where is the incentive for the kids to stay out of trouble? This just tells them go to jail & get a free education.

they earned their prison term, not free college. they contribute nothing to society and never will. keep the free college for those who earn/need it.

Governor Cuomo, If you want to offer these prisoners rehabilitation, offer a plan that makes them WORK for it. The outrageous taxpayer expense of caring for prisoners and their RIGHTS in prison is insulting to those of us who work so hard to raise quality kids who struggle to get into college due to competition. Your plan is insulting!

I don't know where to begin with this. I have never in my 22 years of living felt so disrespected in my entire life. This governor has got some nerve give free education (yes, FREE) College education to the worst people in society. I work hard so I can make something of myself and I must say for this governor to do what he wants to do, it's an total insult and I will NOTTT be voting for him him in November.

I pay my taxes - I should have a right to say how they are spent.

his father Mario had this program and life inmates were receiving law degrees from syracuse university and became jail house lawyers at a cost of how many tens of thousands of dollarts to nys taxpayers. inmates received one on one education (professor/inmate) at nys taxpayers footing the bill. also, professors were having affairs with inmates under the guise of education. I am TOTALLY AGAINST INMATE COLLEGE DEGREES AND IMMIGRANT DEGREES at taxpayer dollars.

I work with people in jail for my job; believe me, 98% would just abuse this and the 2% that would benefit does not justify this.

Thank you for opposing the governors plan, it's NOT what taxpayers want and we should not have that financial burden.
