PLEASE SIGN THIS ONLINE PETITION TO OPPOSE THE PLANNED TAKEOVER/MERGER/MONOPOLY/CONSOLIDATION OF Exelon and Pepco!

Exelon is planning to takeover Pepco andwe, county residents and homeowners, need to protest by saying no. This proposed takeover is a merger and consolidation and it will create a huge, monopoly contrary to our homeowner and small-business interests. (See Sunday's Washington Post, Local Opinions, section C5, 4/5/2015).

We need to let our Delegates and Senators in the Maryland Legislature know that we oppose this monopolistic takeover which will take away price competition and pave the way to unchecked energy rate increases for households and businesses on a budget, now and into the future.

We have to move quickly. A group.of out-of-state Investors are pushing the merger. We need to let the Legislature's Energy Committee know that we, citizens, households and county small businesses, oppose this takeover/merger. We do not want our representatives to be passive, stand on the sidelines and allow this planned monopoly to take hold.

PLEASE SIGN THIS ONLINE PETITION and tell your neighbors, communities and elected officials about it. Say"No!" to the merger. Help our consumer-friendly elected representatives fight for us. If they lose, our utilities' rates could maybe double or triple.

We spent years trying to break up monopolies that unjustly inflated prices. This will begin the reinstatement of such monopolies. Pepco has worked hard to improve its reliability and keep costs as low as possible. Don't let Exelon destroy this.
