Please vote NO on the construction of any Aldi or strip mall. I am a former proud resident of Cazenovia and an intended future home owner of a Summer residence.

This developer has a near-monopoly on commercial real estate in Cazenovia. This is not where tax subsidies should be directed.

Looking at other rural towns around the state, I see many towns that did not develop. Most of them now appear to be ghost towns. Will Cazenovia share the same fate? I also see rural towns that have developed and now thrive.

We moved here because we wanted to be in a small town with historic buildings and a focus on local business. No more chains please, the McDonalds and Subway are more than enough. This makes me sad.

We need to find out why there is a rush to make our town bigger, instead of better. Look at the available resources(the vacant/unused buildings) and fix those before expansion with short term sprawl. Better shopping is about 20 minutes away, which is why we live in Cazenovia.

We need to push to keep Cazenovia the special place it is, and utilize the resources we already have (some right across the street from the proposed area,) instead of building this newer, bigger, unnecessary plaza. The Comprehensive Plan exists for a reason, and the Town and Village Boards need to remember that.

Violates the comprehensive plan that we wholeheartedly supported. An abuse of power.

I am all for new business and development. My concern lays with the heart of our village. How can we justify annexing and building new when many buildings within our village remain unoccupied? Moreover, the type of development purposed would strip a business out of an already underdeveloped plaza across the street. What's more, we'd be building out and new - for what? ANOTHER bank?

This type of expansion is not compatible with the communities long term goals. Urban sprawl is all to often followed by urban blight and this is exactly opposite to goals of preserving Cazenoiva.

What is the point of having a comprehensive plan if you do not follow it. Cazenovia draws people because it does not look like Manlius. We have a whole existing commercial plaza across the street. Make changes in there to add. For that matter, use the old Napa Store, gas station and colligans. Plenty of space not being used in the village. Why make more?

I agree STRONGLY with this petition! my only other suggestion would be something someone told me about a grocery store closing in Morrisville or ? other small town east of Caz. Why aren't they putting it in there, obvioulsy a store is needed for the surrounding rural towns! Caz residents could use it also if they wish.

If the town worked together, in good faith, to make a plan for development,
why are we even considering this? Why are you not honoring the plan?

Our elected officials need to listen to their constituents and abide by their own comprehensive plan. They need instead to make developers stop hollowing out our village.
