This is disturbing. Please keep our Town of Basalt as beautiful and historic as it is.

We need to protect the open land that makes Basalt a place where we want to live. The development in river park is the perfect example of the developers leading policy for profit without community interest. Basalt simply does not have the correct city planning nor the infrastructure to support this type of development.

Private for profit businesses should not determine zoning to meet their business goals. That’s for local elected governments to do.

The only way this should be approved is if all the units are for valley employee housing at rates workers can actually afford.

I just hope that Town Council, and P&Z listen to the communities concerns this time. We ended up with the River Park atrocity because they failed to support the community. How do we really get them to listen and understand that developments like this do not benefit the Town of Basalt. Just another developer praying on our town. I see no benefit to the Basalt residents by approving this development. Development continues to destroy the habitat in the area for the wildlife. Don't allow this kind of greed to invade our town.

We cannot continue development for development sakes. Too many concerns surround this proposed development. Too dense. Not enough employee housing.

As it stands, it increases our footprint instead of addressing affordable housing to support the community that currently exists. I feel that not enough attention has been given to those developments already approved as to why this development is beneficial or just a developers haven. I strongly agree that we should not let developers drive land use decisions in our valley. I have seen the results in the front range and do not want that to happen here.

Oppose "glamping" aspect; also concerns about proximity to river and potential traffic issues.

It is time to recognize that further development in the valley should be ended. The carrying capacity of the valley has been exceeded. We should now focus on achieving sustainability.
