Not much has changed with this property:
1) The floodplain still exists and/or has expanded
2) The wetlands and wildlife habitat still exist, and may also have expanded as a result of the Lake Christine fire.
3) The traffic and intersection issues still exist
4) Pitkin and Eagle Counties have demonstrated that they understand the land use issues in developing this property. The property should remain in their respective jurisdictions.

Rich or poor- preserve the river corridor at all costs. Hwy 82 cannot support more traffic. Summer winter spring or fall there is an accident every day on 82 sometimes multiple. Aspen and Snowmass drive the need for more housing and the affordable housing should be built up alley by Aspen and Snowmass to keep cars off “ killer” 82. The appropriate location for the next high density project is at the Brush Creek / intercept lot - underground parking garage for RFTA and multi story residential above or other location near Aspen. Other issues - our trail heads, boat ramps, grocery stores parking cannot handle this and all the other proposed and under construction development in our valley.

We must stop the greed of developers from ruining our beautiful valley and creating more traffic and density that is already out of control. We already have the tree farm project and Fields that will be providing more housing. STOP this excessive growth!!!!!

A terrible spot for more development. Basalt cannot handle the traffic it already had and the parking for commercial is maxed out. We need to see the impact of The Tree Farm so I say no more at development at this point.
