The decision to reduce AFrofest to 1 day sends a short sighted and negative message to those who have grown to participate and value this wonderful event Toronto is a city known for its fine arts festivals many which overlap as they do on the aFrofest weekend. Reducing the festival to one day denies artists, vendors, and audiences one of north Americas most vibrant outdoor experiences. It is unknown the specifics of the "violations" but having attended and volunteered for many of the 26 years, I have rarely seen lapses in compliance to city bylaws.
Please reverse this decision and encourage organizers to present a fine 2 day festival as they have for 26 years

Why cut off the legs of something - give it proper support. It now means instead of just 60K people per day, it could mean 100K on the one day, which may not be able to accommodate for so many reasons

I attend every year and the event is no louder than Blues Fest, Salsa on St Clair, Greek fest etc. The production companies that work with all these festivals can pull the plug at end time to ensure the agreement is fulfilled. They have done it before.

If Canada embraces diversity and culture values across, then this is an important event that brings together African cultures and celebrate who we are; not any different from other culture events exhibited in Ontario which runs a whole wkend, others last for a whole wk. This event matters to all Africans and we matter!
