This decision is extremely biaised, unfair, racist and stupid. SHAME ON CITY HALL!
If the City of Toronto really wants to reduce the noise resulting from street festivals, it must treat Afrofest the same way as other cultural festivals such as Taste of Danforth, Little Italy Festival, Salsa on St-Clair, Little India Festival, etc.
All those festivals place in DENSELY POPULATED neighborhoods of Toronto where STREETS ARE CLOSED, making even worse the congested traffic in Toronto and obliging TTC bus or streetcars change their routes. That is NOT the case with Afrofest, since it takes place in a public park, NOT under people's windows.
Also, Being a cash trapped city, Toronto should keep the 2 day festival because it brings a lot of money to the city. One day festival means tens of thousands of revenue loss for the city (permits, sales tax on hotel, food, merchandising, public transit, parking fees, etc.)

Please Keep Afrofest. afrikans and whole entire Toronto Community needs this festival. Infact we need it to be three days or the whole week. It helps us to heal the sufferings of being away from our cultural heritage and values, elements which was taken away by force by the same system which now are working on destroying Afrofest. We need it for networking enjoyment and fullfiling our cultural and spiritual needs. UHURU

I've been going to Afrofest for many years. It is the only music festival I religiously go to. I don't live anywhere near Woodbine park, but I make the journey TWICE that weekend to get in as much amazing music as possible.

If this is passed then why is there not complaints for Taste of the Danforth, pride....why must the Afro community suffer. Can we not find a best case solution for all.

This event is on louder than others (I live two blocks from the venue). Have the event pay a city worker to be there to pull the plug at 11pm (or whenever cut off is).

We should find ways to increase cultural enrichment events, not decrease them, especially for such a large city like Toronto. I come from Buffalo, NY for this.
