I wonder if a festival on Canadian Country Music would be treated the same way.
Let the Festival be and find common grounds to discuss a compromise.
This country is made of many cultures. It is only fair to let all communities express themselves.

The City Staff and Councillor Mary Margaret McMahon should sound monitor all, and I mean all, events and festivals in Toronto to establish the truth, i.e. factual sound levels statistics. This simple statistical evidence over time would help to determine whether or not the City staff and Councillor Mary Margaret McMahon are just being perpetrators/victims of implicit racial and cultural bias or not.

We should be celebrating our multicultural roots. Making this a 1-day festival is discriminatory. I guarantee the music at Bestival (held in the same location ) will be way louder and less culturally important.

This is a case of NIMBY-ism, pure & simple.
AfroFest has been the highlight of my summer, every summer since I moved to Toronto 15 years ago. I was sad to see it shifted to the east end of the city, but I still went out there to support it thanks to transit accessibility.

They will do anything to put black people down, behind the scenes racism is what they're trying to accomplish. They should feel privileged to host an event like this

I love this festival I go every year sometimes one day or sometimes both days, but either way it's a way to get a taste of another countrys style and culture and others feel the same way! Keep the two day festival..

Afrofest is one of the few places I can go to and immediately feel a sense of community amongst strangers that look like me and talk with tones that sound like home. Reducing the festival to a one day event, reduces the opportunity for many others to experience this sense of home away from home.
