Afrofest is a great festival, representing many of Toronto's diverse population. It deserves the full weekend, not just one day.

Torontonians love this festival - as proven by year over year attendance. Why would you change it? We need diversity in music as well.

So, let me get this straight - you're banning Afrofest due to the threat of noise violations, but you've okayed Bestival and loud EDM music for the same site and venue? You need to reverse this decision pronto.

What a complete disaster. This is discrimination, plain and simple.

Either give us the 2 days, or cut every other festival down to 1 day...lets play fair

One of the best festivals in Toronto do not get rid of what is part of Toronto's cultural movements

2 days out of 365...if we can tolerate the air shows then the same condition should be afforded a much less noisy afrofest

In a city that prides itself on it's arts ad cultural diversity we should be doing everything we can to support authentic, grassroots, community driven events like this one. We need to do more to help them make this happen, not putting up road blocks!

This is clearly discriminatory. Keep Toronto diverse and noisy!!

Diversity is what makes Toronto such an amazing city! 2 days out of the year to gather great drummers and listen to great rhythms as well as watch dancers perform is in my opinion not too much to ask for! Toronto should be the leader in interesting and innovative ideas and allow these festivals to be part of such a cosmopolitan city!

If the city puts any form a restriction on the black community where this even is concerned it will show us that Toronto is not much different from the USA

This turn of events is truly a shameful act for Toronto. Where is the appreciation of culture in the city that is so incredibly diverse?! How do a few biased noise complaints amount to a HUGE cultural festival being cut down to just one day?! I, as a citizen of this city, and as a person of colour, cannot stand by and let this happen just to satisfy the very few people that can't seem to understand that we need to live, learn and celebrate TOGETHER! Not divide into racially motivated discrimination. Please Toronto, do better than this.
