It's apparent that the city and it's council are the offenders here. Blaming the complaints of residents as to the reasons as to why it's been reduced is an outright lie. The city rejected permits last year with no substantial reason for it except for the simple fact, and let's be completely honest here; because of the race of the individuals. It's a shame that a city who claims diversity is on a slippery slope of racial divide such as one happening in America. If we don't have politician and policy's in place to assure equal opportunity for everyone maybe it's time we take a very closer look at the personalities along with accredited qualifications of the people we elect to represent us.

I am an African American and this is part of my culture. You are trying to put a stop to a part of our heritage and culture. To me that means that you are biased towards us and our culture.

This is unacceptable. An increase in attendance means that the fest should left at the original two day span if anything the increase in attendance should extend the fest over to three days

I've been a proud festival goer since 2008, and it has been a space for me and my family to rejoice in music, food and culture of our people while surviving (not living) in a white supremacist, cisheteronormative capitalistic anti-black country. Though Toronto, and Canada as a whole, prides itself in being a welcoming, multiethnic place of mixes an exchanges, this only goes so far as it doesn't "bother" certain people, at which point these festivals that are celebrated are put to the margins until they disappear completely.
Please keep Afrofest alive.

Afrofest is an integral component of the ethnic festivals hosted in Toronto, year round. 8 complaints that were issued to combat this event results in confining the festival to one day instead of 3. In comparison to the other events held at the same venue, with the same equipment; it's not out of the ordinary. Yet is being subjected to unfair and unreasonable sanctions. This is deplorable. SAVE AFROFEST!
